One part of the manufacturing process chain requires precise heating to apply a polymer coating for mechanical protection, controlled friction, and biocompatibility. The current process is largely manual and serial, limiting throughput and reproducibility. This thesis aims to develop a machine and process concept enabling parallel, automated heating of multiple devices, with optimized thermal and mechanical process parameters. • Develop and optimize the heat-treat process with respect to temperature profiles, exposure time, processing speed and nozzle and heat-delivery design • Evaluate process stability, scalability, and manufacturability • Enrolled student in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, biomedical engineering, or a comparable field • Strong interest in machine design, automation and manufacturing processes
