The research focuses on modeling and analyzing the interrelationships between biophysical and human-made systems, looking from the deep past to the far future to examine how humanity has driven the emergence of the Anthropocene – the period in which human activities began significantly impacting our planet's climate and ecosystems – and identifying potential intervention points towards a more sustainable future. They will also develop management strategies to support in-depth exploration of anthropogenic factors in the evolution of Earth systems including diverse modelling approaches. They will collaborate with across the Institute to support data availability and storage through models, web databases, and scientific publications. Proficiency in semantic data modelling, utilizing technologies such as RDF, XML, JSON-LD, and Linked Open Data (LOD), etc.
