• Design a mechanical system for automated, parallel processing of multiple devices • Experience with CAD and mechanical design; hands-on prototyping experience is an advantage - One part of the manufacturing process chain requires precise heating to apply a polymer coating for mechanical protection, controlled friction, and biocompatibility. This thesis aims to develop a machine and process concept enabling parallel, automated heating of multiple devices, with optimized thermal and mechanical process parameters. • Develop and optimize the heat-treat process with respect to temperature profiles, exposure time, processing speed and nozzle and heat-delivery design • Integrate cleanroom-compatible design principles (materials, airflow, particle minimization) • Enrolled student in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, automation engineering, biomedical engineering, or a comparable field
