With over 300,000 jobs online and 25 million visits per month, the data is big and the challenge is even bigger. Our team provides the search and recommender backend for our job boards all over the world, applying cutting-edge technology and machine-learning approaches. We need an experienced and creative professional to own the development of advanced technical solutions for our search and recommender engines and help take it to the next level of quality.
Search&Match is split across offices in Brussels, Berlin, Munich and London, so you will work in an international environment with a team of experienced and like-minded colleagues.
Your Tasks
As a Technical Product Owner in the Search&Match team, you will:
- Be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of our search backend
- Plan and lead the migration of our products to new platforms and markets
- Prioritize the backlog of features to maximally contribute to the improvement of the quality of your product
- Be responsible for product backlog refinement (Backlog grooming), make sure the backlog is healthy and consistent
- Initiate and guide new projects from conception to deployment
- Work closely with the development team on the design and specification of new features
- Ensure that the dev team is working on highest valued features / user stories
- Manage the (offline and A/B-) testing and quality monitoring for ongoing projects
- Keep an eye on the performance of your products, proactively spot issues and take the necessary actions
- Monitor developments in search and recommendation technology and evaluate them for the recruitment domain
- Help people to find the job they love
Your Profile
- You have a university degree in a relevant area plus at least 3-5 years professional or high-level academic experience in a field with a strong emphasis on computer science, natural language processing, data science or similar
- You are an agile adept and you have important experience in developing software in an agile way (e.g. Scrum), ideally as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- You are also able to understand complex technical concepts and software architectures (e.g. SaaS), ideally you are already familiar with Lucene or elasticsearch
- Your decisions are data-driven, and you know how to use common analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics)
- Experience in software development or data science/machine learning will be a significant plus
- You are assertive and proactive, and you take responsibility for the success of your projects and initiatives
- You have a pragmatic, goal-driven mindset
- Fluent English speaker (the working language is English)
- Knowledge of German, French or Dutch is a plus
- You are willing and able to travel regularly within Europe (10-15%)
