AIXTRON is the Innovation leader in specialty films deposition, which find growing application in a large number of areas. Not only is the core market for Opto- and Power-Semiconductors expected to more than double in size over the next few years, but also are new applications in the areas of 2D materials, graphene and carbon nanotubes under development by university and industrial research partners.
On a path of further profitable growth, AIXTRON will identify new applications for its technologies as well as new areas of business, seek attractive investment opportunities, set up partnerships and conduct M&A when positive returns can be expected.

The Strategy Analyst is member of the AIXTRON strategy team, led by the AIXTRON Head of Strategy. The role allows for a high level of creativity in the approach to solving the challenges at hand and provides significant opportunity for personal development, apprenticeship and mentoring by the Head of Strategy in a very small and interactive strategy team.
In detail:
Your tasks:
- Drive to analyses, calculations and research for strategy projects that reshape the strategy of AIXTRON group, e.g.
- Market research and analysis of currently addressed or potential future markets for AIXTRON, incl. monitoring competitor activity and multiple sources ranging from market/analyst reports to raw market data out of the field
- Business modelling for new business ideas resulting from the broad set of innovation initiatives within the company
- Identification and analysis opportunities for differentiation, revenue growth or margin improvement along the value chain, including new business models or pricing schemes in the core business MOCVD
- Support M&A, inorganic growth or partnering (e.g., Joint Ventures) activities within AXITRON with analysis or coordination
- Ongoing support for other functions in the context of the strategy and related processes within AIXTRON, e.g. for Investor Relations and capital markets communication
Your profile:
- Masters Degree in technical, engineering or commercial studies, ideally with close link to the semiconductor or semiconductor equipment industry
- Solid technical understanding beyond the own field of studies, e.g. materials science or electronics applications
- Strong analytic and quantitative skills
- Basic understanding of Corporate Finance and familiarity with modelling tools, e.g. Excel advantageous
- Strong verbal and written communications in English (German a strong plus)
- Genuine interest in the areas of semiconductors, material science in general, as well as in our focus applications such as optical and power semiconductors, displays, new energy/mobility, solid state batteries, etc.
- Structured problem solver and quick thinker
- Openness and flexibility to learn the working mode of a project-driven strategy team
- Collaborative team player seeking to work in a dynamic environment hand-in-hand with cross-functional teams
- Hands-on and get-it-done mentality desired to take initial responsibility and ownership for assigned tasks
