(Senior) Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d)
Flaconi is one of the largest online pure player for beauty products in Germany. The online shop’s extensive portfolio consists of more than 720 international brands and 45.000 products in the categories perfume, skin care, make-up, hair care, natural cosmetics and accessories. The online shop covers, from drugstore over organic cosmetics to premium, all product segments. Flaconi was founded in 2011 and employs over 450 people at its headquarters in Berlin-Charlottenburg, in its logistics centre and the Flaconi Concept Store in Berlin Mitte. The German online shop has won numerous awards and is also represented in Austria and Poland.
What you can expect in this role
- Together with the Data Science team you will design and build strong state-of-the-art Machine Learning models
- In particular, you will ensure the effective deployment of our existing ML models and consult on potential improvements
- You demonstrate an end-to-end understanding of the Machine Learning applications under development
- Furthermore, you collaborate with Data Engineers to build data pipelines tailored to Machine Learning and Data Science needs and manage the ad hoc Data Science inquiries
- You analyse large and complex datasets and prototypes to extract insights and develop appropriate scalable models
- Additionally, you lead on software engineering and software design, in particular, CI/CD for Machine Learning applications and models’ APIs with flaconi’s webpage
- You build highly scalable APIs to expose our Machine Learning solutions to end customers
- You work and improve the deployment of our existing use cases, such as Recommender Systems, Forecasting for Supply Chain Management, Pricing, and Company Steering, Campaign Prediction and Fraud Detection
Your essential experience and education
- Several years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or similar, like a Data Engineer working with Machine Learning models or Full Stack Data Scientist
- Extensive knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms and processes
- Strong coding background and familiar with main Python libraries and Pyspark
- Proficient with coding best practices and CI/CD procedures and tools (e.g. Pytest, GitHub, Travis)
- Proficient in SQL
- Experience in maintaining and monitoring Machine Learning models in production
- Experience with AWS Cloud services
- Good understanding of Airflow, Kubernetes and Docker is a strong plus
- Ability to work as part of an international team, share knowledge actively and contribute with your own ideas and expertise
- Positive and energetic personality with good communication skills
