SPRING is responsible for over 60 products from more than 25 Brands and some of Europe's biggest news sites including BILD.de and WELT.de. The websites together attract over 20 Mio. users per day, all of them tracked well since 2 years. There are 4 Mio registered users. Furthermore, there are thousands of articles and other types of content (comments, images, videos). To make a long story short: We have tons of data! On the other hand, this data is little used – up to now! We – a growing data group in SPRING including 3 data scientists and 2 data engineers – want to change exactly that.
For this task we search for an additional data scientist to help us make better decisions in all areas of the business. This includes everything from analyze usage patterns, classifying and forecasting user behavior up to improving the journalists’ lives with text classification. But also a large part of the work will include identifying use cases for machine learning, informing other stakeholders in the company how to make use of the data - in general be a data advocate. Nobody hits the ground running. You won’t be able to answer every question immediately or know how all the systems work on day one—and we don’t expect you to.
