As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for executing product development projects in Eaton Filtration’s life science media engineering team. You will have a full responsibility to ensure project goals are accomplished within the given time and budget constraints, as well as perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures while achieving customer requirements and meeting our financial objectives.

Ihre Aufgaben

Interact with customers & suppliers in the life science business with a focus on our Fine Chemicals& Pharmaceutical market to better understand their business, their technology, and the resulting unmet needs.
Actively contribute to a life science media product development strategy, roadmap, and product development funnel.
Research and analyze scientific & technical information including intellectual property. Translate the results & conclusions of this work into tangible product development activities.
Understand, operate, and take ownership of lab equipment to manufacture product development samples and to test properties of filtration media.
Evaluate data from instruments, experiments, and filter media using statistical methods and a scientific/engineering-minded approach. Draw conclusions based on data and objective results from scientific evidence and calculations.
Clearly document and communicate activities, results, and conclusions by means of Excel, Power Point, written reports or similar presentation tools.
Develops experiments, product ideas, concepts, and product development paths based on structured, scientific, and engineering approaches. Develops creative ideas and applies out-of-the-box thinking.
Leads projects using ProLaunch stage-gate project management tools from conception to commercialization of new products. Provides leadership and coordination of the cross-functional project team. This includes full accountability of the project progress, its timeline, budget, as well as communication of the project status to management through regularly scheduled update meetings.
Maintain a high level of awareness in the liquid filtration industry through formal education, technical seminars, and/or product design exhibitions to ensure our continued product leadership.
Regularly communicate and demonstrate Eaton best practices, ethics, values and philosophy such that these cultural attributes are incorporated throughout the organization. Foster an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophy, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships.

Ihr Profil

Master´s degree or a higher degree preferred in Chemistry, Engineering, or related life science degree
Minimum of 5 years practical experience in research and development area in life science filtration
Proven Project Management skills: Ability to keep an overview of project action items and tasks. Enforce deliverables and due dates in a multidisciplinary team through project leadership and regularly scheduled meetings
Expertise in material science of fibrous and polymeric materials
Solid understanding of polymer chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid processes
Strong statistical analysis skills, DOE, MSA, Minitab
Hands-on attitude and ability to operate laboratory equipment
Ability to find, understand, interpret and practically apply scientific and technical information
Capability to represent/present in front of the customer
Scientific and technical knowledge in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical processes that may relate to or require filtration
German fluency, English proficiency
