Was dich erwartet

We are currently looking for you to join "Digital Rail Germany" by DB Netz AG in Berlin. Your tasks:

Within our team, you take on the technical implementation in the development of a train-side / onboard platform for digitized rail operation. This includes hardware, hardware abstractions and middleware and is intended to support a large number of applications for highly automated rail operations

To achieve this, you initially drive and consolidate the discussion within DB and with railway undertakings on the requirements towards a future onboard platform

Together with platform experts across Europe, you then design the platform, explicitly taking orientation in onboard platform solutions from the automotive or aviation sectors (e.g., AutoSAR or ARINC653)

You engage in standardization and with equipment vendors to ensure that the vision of a future-proof onboard platform is also translated into reality. Where beneficial, you also setup and drive R&D collaborations with equipment vendors

In the context of the trial and pilot environments for future rail operation, you define and supervise appropriate trial and pilot setups, including also the setup of public tenders for this

Was wir erwarten

Your profile:

You have successfully completed a degree in computer science, telecommunications engineering, or a comparable field of study

You have a background in onboard computation platforms, for instance from the automotive, aviation or railway sector. In particular, you have experience in at least one of the following fields:

Onboard middleware, real-time operating systems (e.g., PikeOS, QNX);

Automated software update solutions for onboard systems;

Onboard I/O and connectivity solutions, such as CAN bus, TCN, etc.

Compute solutions for safety-critical applications (e.g., SIL4, Class A/B/C, ASIL) and for very processing-intense applications (e.g., based on GPUs)
