The Configuration & Change Manager acts as a facilitator, responsible for managing the change queue and ensuring change are made efficiently with minimum risk to the organization.
Furthermore, he is responsible for maintaining information about Configuration Items required to deliver IT services.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Authorize and approve minor/low changes
• Coordinate and conduct meetings with Change advisory board (CAB) to discuss higher risk changes
• Authority to implement or reject a change
• Ensures that all the activities designed to implement the change are as per the standards. The policies and procedures should be well defined, recognized and reviewed
• Prepare Change Summary Sheet that summarizes all RFC’s
• Defining the structure of the configuration management system, including CI types, naming conventions, required and optional attributes and relationships
• Management of configuration Items (monitoring of entries in CMDB) - Able to capture the information asset and IT asset managed by IT department by using an asset tracking method or system
• Adaptation and further development of CMDB System (Service Now)
• Provide training for the CMDB
• Define and maintain interfaces to other processes
