COLUMBIA Cruise Services GmbH & Co. KG (CCS), affiliated to the COLUMBIA Group, is a Hamburg-based company founded in 2014. The Cypriot predecessor, the "COLUMBIA Cruise Group" looks back on a history of 30 years within the maritime leisure industry.
Due to our continuous fleet expansion, we are looking for the right individual to strengthen and complement our Hamburg based Hotel Operations Team as
Health & Hygiene Officer
Your tasks:
- Supervise the on-board operations to achieve Company and international standards for Health and Hygiene in compliance with HACCP, EU-SHIPSAN, US Vessel Sanitation Program, and other applicable rules and regulations;
- Review COVID-19-related industry guidance and regulations and apply new regulations and programs fleet-wide, as applicable;
- Schedule, conduct / arrange and document trainings for the entire fleet on applicable port health rules and regulations, and any other job related training, as required;
- Ensure compliant documentation and maintain records of health & hygiene procedures;
- Ensure readiness of the fleet for Port, Flag, and other inspections at any time;
- Provide technical support in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of hygiene and sanitation programs;
- Provide fleet-wide supervision of the Integrated Pest Management plans in cooperation with the respective contractor;
- Monitor Water Safety procedures for air conditioning, potable water and recreational water facilities;
- Maintain and constantly monitor the Outbreak Prevention and Control (Plan);
- Responsible for updating and maintaining all health & hygiene related manuals and procedures;
- Ensure proper procedures for the on-board use of chemicals and maintenance of MSDS;
- Participate in projects as assigned.
Your profile:
- An industry-related education (e.g. Public Health);
- A minimum two years’ work experience in the public health sector, such as disease control, food safety and or water safety;
- Experiences as Sanitation Officer or Health & Hygiene Officer on board a cruise vessel are of advantage;
- Profound knowledge of HACCP, US Vessel Sanitation Program, EU-SHIPSAN and Marpol regulations;
- Willingness to travel;
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Convincing communication and presentation skills;
- Capability to work autonomously, but keeping the overall Company goals in mind;
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken), German skills an advantage;
- A team-player, supporting interactions with colleagues from other departments and various stakeholders;
- The ability to perform under pressure and enjoying the interaction with clients complete your profile.
