For our location in Berlin we are looking for

Head of Data (Science & Engineering) (m/f/d)

• Build, lead and manage a Data Engineering team
• Mentor team members in the Data Engineering team around technologies and processes and ensure we follow industry best practices
• Create and maintain the architecture for optimal data-flow
• Create and process big data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
• Build the infrastructure required for optimal ETL of data from a wide variety of data sources, using big-data technologies
• Build analytics tools for our Analysts, Scientist and Product Managers, that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics
• Ensure best practices around software development within the team
• Work closely with key company stakeholders and be responsible for the overall planning, actionning and success of projects
• Enable the games to grow in the future by structuring the data platforms for long-term success by focusing on maintainability, scalability and quality within the code base of the project

• You must have in-depth knowledge of Data Science (Deep-learning, Machine Learning, Bayesian interface, recommender systems, computer vision, natural language processing, etc.) and the ability to formulate a deep technical understanding of the technology stack
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in a senior data science role for a large company or venture-backed start-up where data played a key comparative advantage or was essential to bottom line of the business
• 3+ years of prior experience in managing data teams
• Great communication skills to engage with a wide range of stakeholders
• Outstanding background of forming teams within a fast-paced environment
• In depth knowledge of how the data landscape and the different departments build a symbiosis
• Experience designing and building data engineering projects
• Agile project management skills
• Experience of making key technical decisions within data engineering
• Must be proactive, self-directed and organized
• Ability to quickly get up to speed with existing code
• Awareness of industry best practices and the ability to apply the right solution to any given problem
