Do you think this could be you? To pursue our ambitious growth strategy, we are looking for a Head of Buying Decoration, Mirrors, Tableware (m/f/d). In this position, we are looking for candidates who are creative and at the same time have a very good sense for product economics, who are detail-orientated and just as motivated as we are in developing amazing products and bringing them closer to our customers. By managing your own projects, you will be given the chance to prove your business brain and actively contribute to the success of Westwing.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Leading a growing Buying team (6-8) in the categories Decoration, Tableware and Mirrors for Brands and our Private Labels
- Drive Westwing’s growth by enabling your team to build and expand the supply base, pick-up trends to fulfill our assortment strategy and source and develop new bestselling products
- Sourcing and developing bestselling products from idea to quality assurance with the goal to create an unparalleled shopping experience
- Identification and initiating cooperation with attractive manufacturers and brands to expand the product range and developing a long-term, strategic partnerships with suppliers
- Conducting negotiations with new and existing suppliers (including product selection, prices, conditions, optimal supply chain setup etc.)
- Manage the team by setting targets & priorities and track progress & results
- Effectively manage interfaces and collaborate with other company departments, such as Category Management, Supply Chain Management, Creative, Quality Management, Asia offices and our external agents
- Identify and analyze business opportunities to meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets and collaborate with internal teams to drive change
- Analyze relevant KPIs, monitor margins and customer reviews and assess product performance against targets to plan future buying needs accordingly
- Contribute to strategic assortment planning and creative direction of the affected categories
You come with:
- 7+ years of work experience; buying experience with direct factory sourcing and product development is required, preferably in at least one of the following categories: Home Décor, Tableware, Vases, Mirrors or any related category
- Leadership experience with a team-oriented and collaborative approach to work and a passion about making an impact
- Outstanding sense for trends, creativity, thorough understanding of the industry and customer needs and a passion for interior
- Track record of leading successful commercial negotiations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Analytical thinker with a results driven working style
- Entrepreneurial mindset and self-starter with strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a structured manner, hands-on mentality and willingness to take decisions
- Fluency in English
