Nord Stream AG is an international joint venture established for the planning, construction and operation of the twin offshore gas pipelines “Nord Stream” through the Baltic Sea. Nord Stream’s head office and operations centre are both located in Zug, Switzerland.
Nord Stream’s natural gas pipelines run in parallel through the Baltic Sea for 1,224 kilometres from Portovaya Bay, near Vyborg on the Russian Baltic Sea coast to Lubmin, Germany. Each pipeline comprises some 100,000 24-tonne concrete-weight-coated steel pipes laid on the seabed along the precise route approved by the authorities of the five countries through whose waters the pipelines pass. Nord Stream is committed to safety and the environment: During the project planning, the joint venture invested 100 million euros in the most comprehensive research of the Baltic Sea ever conducted. Another 40 million euros were invested during the recovery period thereafter in order to guarantee that the environment is not adversely affected.
Freelance Supplier Quality Auditor (home based with travel in Europe)
Nord Stream AG Quality, Change and Risk Department is looking for someone who could support us with Quality Audits of our Contractors / Suppliers providing services and supplying equipment and parts for reliable operation of our gas transportation pipelines.
We run an annual contractor audits program where we select 8-12 contractors / suppliers each year from our current Contractors / Suppliers list. Depending on the scope and status of their contract with Nord Stream AG, we prepare and perform Audits that look at their QMS in general, its compliance with ISO9001, how they manage sub-suppliers, etc.
Essentially, we compare their Quality Assurance and Control stated capabilities with actual performance both in general terms and in terms of following our requirements for specific ongoing purchase order and projects.
In 2017, we managed these audits on our own, but for 2018-19 we had a home-based certified QMS Lead Auditor whom we kept busy 3-5 working days per week during the months of February-June (6 months) and September-November (3 months).
For every Audit the Freelance Supplier Quality Auditor would perform all audit-specific preparation (starting with review of PO / SoW / Specifications in question) in coordination with NSP Contract Managers, Quality, etc.). We would then review / comment / approve what he / she had prepared, he / she would issue the audit notification, align with contractor, then lead the Audit, prepare the report / findings / recommendations.
50-80% (9 months of year between 3 and 5 working days per week).
Duration of assignment
February – June 2020 (6 months) and September – November 2020 (3 months).
Place of Work
5-day paid Induction at Nord Stream AG office at Industriestrasse 18, 6302 Zug;
Thereafter home-based during audit preparation and audit report preparation;
