Was dich erwartet

We are currently looking for you to join "Digital Rail Germany" by DB Netz AG in Berlin. Your Tasks:

Analyzing future railway communication networks and their usage for future rail operation, based on Matlab/Simulink simulations with the focus on 5G NR and Core

Implementing a Matlab/Simulink based connectivity simulation model that integrates 5G network features, and which will ultimately be integrated into a larger overall simulator for future rail operation

Integrating railway specific scenarios and data traffic patterns into the network simulations

Evaluating numerical simulation results of different communication network features and configurations (e.g., transmission strategies) based on spectral efficiency, reliability, latency

Performing a simulation-based assessment of the impact of connectivity and compute platform limitations on digital rail applications

Compiling the results for specification and standardization activities together with connectivity and railway application experts

Coordinating and managing technical projects and supervising students

Was wir erwarten

Your Profile:

Degree in communications engineering, computer engineering, computer science or similar

At least 4-5 years of experience in mobile communication systems with focus on cellular 4G/5G networks

Familiarity with the latest 3GPP standardization on 5G/NR RAN and 5G Core

Practical experience in analyzing and designing communication systems on layer 1 to 4 of the ISO OSI stack

Advanced experience with Matlab/Simulink based communication simulators

Ideally experience with Python and/or C/C++

Ideally experience in technical project management and/or coordination
