Together with other market participants, we offer our customers a platform for future standards: unconditional customer orientation, digital solutions and sustainable business models. Our basis is wholesale, which has shown stable growth rates for years. The secret of our success is the trusting cooperation with over 24 million customers in 35 countries. In doing so, we focus on sustainable relationships.
Expert / Head of M&A Finance (m/f/d)
For some years now, METRO has been successfully on its way to transforming itself into a pure and highly specialized wholesaler. In doing so, we permanently adapt the group portfolio via M&A transactions and internal group structuring, placing a strong focus on digitization projects.
In our small, powerful team of specialists, we accompany METRO's transactions with all the tools of business administration from A to Z, across the board. Right from the start and with a view to the most diverse controlling and accounting-related issues, you will make a significant contribution to making our worldwide M&A projects successful. Within the scope of these projects, you will be in a controlling function, will hold the threads of your work streams in your hands and will coordinate closely with the departments involved in the process such as M&A, Accounting, Controlling, Tax, Treasury and Legal as well as the operative units. You will coordinate financial due diligence processes, including the consultants mandated for these processes, as well as the creation of closing accounts. At the same time, you will assess strategic projects regarding their advantages for the relevant steering KPIs of the Group and give recommendations for decisions. To do this, you evaluate the effects of transactions on METRO's key financial figures, create scenario calculations, simulations and models. On the way to the successful conclusion of the transactions, you help to shape accounting relevant chapters in company purchase agreements.
Who we are looking for
Ideally, you will have learned the necessary tools during your four to six years in the Transaction Services or M&A department of a Big4 auditing company, an investment bank or in the Corporate Finance department. You are well qualified if you have an above-average Master's degree in Finance & Accounting or Banking from a renowned university. In addition to a pronounced focus on results, strong analytical and strategic skills are important to us, enabling you to grasp the significance of individual key figures and their interrelationships for the Group as a whole and to derive the right measures. You will enjoy a holistic approach, project management in an international environment and strongly interdisciplinary work.
We are a small team, so that an independent, self-reliant way of working and above-average commitment are prerequisites to be successful in the role. Fluent German and English are also required.
We offer you an exciting, varied job, in which you are intensively involved in strategically relevant projects, combined with room for manoeuvre and a wide range of design options. This is combined with a high degree of visibility throughout the entire Group. This offers exceptionally good prospects for an exciting METRO career. The package is rounded off by fair remuneration and a wide range of additional benefits.
