Due to a strong growth, we are looking for an experienced Category Buyer Mechanical – Static Equipment & Packaged Units (m/f/d) to manage the strategic procurement of key equipment, among which Pressure Vessels and Skids, able to deliver high profile strategic procurement initiatives for our competence center in Wildau (near Berlin).
Your responsibilities
This role will focus on strategic procurement within the Static equipment category. Working with the head of procurement, you will deliver a strategy and sourcing plan which ensures cost saving initiatives.
- Analyse supplier market trends and competitor activity
- Devise short and long-term development strategies for product categories including market leading Innovation
- Assess current supplier base and propose improvements
- Build & maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
- Manage the complete purchase cycle from proposal to execution phase through RFP, RFQ, offer evaluation, supplier selection, contract elaboration, performance evaluation and capitalization
- Promote best practice and working relations with Internal stakeholders
- Ensure business risk is minimised through supplier assessment and robust contracts
- Support head of procurement to build 'Best in Class' environment
- Deliver the financial benefits assumed in the company strategic plan
Your profile
- Engineering or commercial university degree with a strong technical understanding of mechanical equipment
- Several years of proven professional experience as category buyer or similar role
- Knowledge or previous experience in gas industry is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office
- Fluent in English and German
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrable experience in a fast-paces environment and achieving targets
- Analytical mind with a strategic ability
