The Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (HZG), in Geesthacht, near Hamburg, and in Teltow, near Berlin, conducts materials and coastal research. For further information please refer to: www.hzg.de
HZG is one of the 19 national institutions of the Hermann von Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres e.V. (HGF). Around 950 employees carry out basic research and development work in close cooperation with national and international research institutions, research-oriented clinics and economic and public institutions.
At the Institute of Polymer Researcharound 50 scientists research membranes for applications in material separation. With its interdisciplinary materials and engineering research the institute covers the entire spectrum from basic research to industrial application.

code no. 2019/P 4
The place of employment is Geesthacht, Germany.
The Institute of Polymer Research at Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht invites applications for a PostDoc position (m/f/d) for the project HI-CAM: Helmholtz-Initiative Climate Adaptation and Mitigation: two Sides of the same Coin. The position is for a period of 24 month (starting as soon as possible).
In the HI-CAM project, expertise of scientists from different Helmholtz centres are combined to a multidisciplinary team to tackle one of today’s most pressing issues: the climate change. The project includes studies of impacts and necessary actions as well as the development of technologies aiming at the mitigation of climate change as e.g. those for circular carbon approaches. One promising technology is based on membrane processes suitable for the separation of e.g. carbon dioxide or hydrogen from gas mixtures. Studying the integration of membrane processes into solutions for decentral carbon dioxide utilisation will be the prime focus.
The promotion of equal rights is a matter of course for us. Severely disabled persons and those equaling severely disabled persons who are equally suitable for the position will be considered preferentially within the framework of legal requirements.
