smartpatient was founded in 2012 on the idea that apps can improve the lives of people living with chronic diseases. This idea led to the creation of the MyTherapy app, which has since helped millions of people around the globe manage their treatment and take their medications as intended. MyTherapy continuously evolves to better support the daily needs of anybody taking regular medications, with the aim of improving people’s lives still at the heart of its development. 

What separated MyTherapy from regular reminder apps was the ability to configure reminders in a manner that allowed users to create schedules aligned with the medication regimen. Over the course of hundreds of releases, MyTherapy has developed to offer additional functionalities including symptom and side effect tracking, the ability to record measurements, and appointment reminders.

Over the years, smartpatient has built partnerships with some of the biggest names in the pharmaceutical industry, with MyTherapy now acting as a powerful platform for a range of services including patient support, education and awareness campaigns, data insights, and software as a medical device (SaMD) solutions.

In 2021, smartpatient was acquired by Redcare Pharmacy, one of Europe’s leading online pharmacies, opening the door to a range of new opportunities and integrations that benefit MyTherapy users and customers of RedCare's web store, Shop Apotheke.
