Sales Manager (m/w) - Retail Paint EMEA

Job Purpose: The purpose of this role is to plan and execute sales activities for our X-Rite Retail Paint business to meet and exceed company targets for sales, market share growth and profitability. Integrate in the EMEA Sales Organization and Sales Channels network and execute on strategy and plans for a sustainable multiple years double-digit growing sales plan. The position reports to the Director of Sales - Retail Paints EMEA and is located in Europe.
Essential Job Functions: Achieve annual sales volume and profitability targets
  • Develop / maintain high level of understanding of the X-Rite value proposition and present this when identifying/ understanding customer needs
  • Manage and develop key dealer and direct accounts
  • Identify and develop new dealers
  • Identify and close new direct sales opportunities
  • Efficient sales territory management
  • Professional and appropriate communication both internally and externally
  • To produce, manage and run demonstrations, events, presentations
  • To develop and maintain knowledge and experience of relevant developments both in our product range and in our key markets
  • Attend and contribute to sales meetings, presentations etc, recognizing the value of one’s own contribution to these events
General Requirements:
  • Extensive sales experience with proven, successful track record during that time
  • Proven experience of closing sales
  • Experience in one or all of our key I&M markets
  • Some experience and understanding of colour control and management, issues in those markets, including software and hardware solutions (Printing, Print for Pay, Photo, Ad Agency, Pre Press)
  • Proven ability to manage and develop key dealers
  • Proven success in identifying/developing direct sales opportunities
  • Efficient sales territory management
  • Ability to work on own, but also must be a ‘team worker’
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Experience of product demonstration to customers at different levels
Qualifications
  • Business qualifications desirable but not essential
  • Paint and consumer market knowledge
Working relationships

Customer – To build strong relationships with customers, making representations / recommendations up to senior sales management level Internal – Close working relationships with Sales & Marketing, Application and Service Teams

  • To explore and build new markets and venues
  • To develop and build on previous successful management and development of an existing Sales territory
  • To continue to identify and bring on suitable new Dealers
  • To develop, continue and build on previous successful Direct Account strategy
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction is delivered and maintained

  • Ability to identify the right time to close sales and to execute close in an appropriate and professional manner

  • Applies a commercial and technical awareness with a customer focused attitude and approach
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with clients at all levels
  • Ability to manage customer expectations to ensure that X-Rite is able to deliver the required levels of service and customer satisfaction
  • Comfortable under pressure of achieving sales targets and deadlines
  • Can produce innovative and creative solutions to problems
  • Ability to work unsupervised but also to work as part of a team when required
  • Fluent in English, German and beneficial French
